To qualify as an advanced NLP practitioner, one needs to be certified or registered with a qualified body. There are three organizations in Australia that offer advanced NLP training. The International Association of NLP, the Australian National Commission for Training and Life Improvement (ANCPI) and the United States National Institute of Justice (NIJ) are the bodies that regulate professional standards and practices related to NLP. To join any of these organizations, one needs to fulfill the eligibility criteria. Qualification is based on the courses completed and the experience gained.

Most NLP training and certifications require candidates to have at least five years' worth of experience. Apart from this requirement, most NLP organizations also insist on the completion of an NLP Master Coach course. This course is usually taken after a two-year post-graduate degree in psychology, applied behavioural analysis or counseling. Candidates who hold national certification by one of the above bodies are then eligible to apply for a teaching position in a reputed NLP training institute.

For individuals who want to become a professional advanced nlp practitioner, they may choose between short-term consulting or full-time NLP training. Candidates who opt for the full-time option can attend both classroom sessions as well as online courses. For those who opt for the short term consulting option, they can complete the course within a period of three months.

Candidates who want to take up advanced certification should note down all their course details and submit them along with their application forms. Online courses are often more preferred by many professionals owing to their convenience as well as reduced costs. However, for individuals who do not have internet access, they may opt for classroom sessions. Candidates can opt for advanced NLP certification from any of the following bodies:

International Association of Coaching & Development (IACDA) - The International Association of Coaching & Development (IACDA) is the global governing body of professional coaching. They are affiliated with several other professional bodies, including the Association of Specialized Life Trainers (ASL), the International Association of Professional Trainers (IAPT), the National Association of Personal Trainers (NAPFT) and the National Guild of Personal Trainers (NPGT). Candidates wishing to become certified must be actively involved in these bodies. They need to possess a Basic Life Coaching qualification (BLTC) and also undergo a further two years' training at IACDA's Intensive Training School. After the training, an advanced NLP certification will be awarded.

International Coach Federation (ICF) - The International Coach Federation (ICF) is a globally recognized association of coaches, trainers, consultants, support staff, instructors and educational specialists. Candidates applying for a certification need to have a Basic Life Coach qualification (BLTC) and a further 3 years training at a IFPT approved training school. International Coach Federation offers several different levels of certification, including Basic Life Coach and Advanced NLP Coaches. Once a candidate becomes a certified coach, they can use the IFPT logo on their documentation, client correspondence and on their official seals. It also ensures that a company employs a person who is a competent and qualified coach.

International Coach Association Certified Coach (ICAC) - The International Coach Association Certified Coach (ICAC) is the international regulatory body of the IFA. The IFA has set out a number of criteria for individuals and companies to meet before becoming certified by the IFA.
